विराट कोहली का जन्म हुए सिर्फ़ 16 दिन हुए थे और मास्टर ब्लास्टर सचिन तेंदुलकर टेस्ट मैच नहीं खेल सके थे.

साल था 1988 और महीना था अक्तूबर का. जब वेस्टइंडीज़ ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को गाबा में हराया था.

भारत की जीत क्यों है ख़ास

ये जीत इस मायने में भी ख़ास है कि चार मैचों की सिरीज़ के पहले ही मुक़ाबले में भारतीय टीम का 36 रनों पर पुलिंदा बंध गया था और अब उसने उस मैदान पर 328 रनों का असंभव सा दिख रहा लक्ष्य हासिल किया.

असंभव इसलिए, क्योंकि गाबा के इस मैदान पर चौथी पारी में कोई भी टीम 250 रनों के पार जाने का साहस नहीं दिखा सकी थी.

जीत इसलिए भी ख़ास है कि इसमें शामिल 11 ख़िलाड़ियों में कोहली, बुमराह, शमी, इशांत, जडेजा, अश्विन, भुवनेश्वर जैसे नाम नहीं हैं.

टीम इंडिया की इस ऐतिहासिक जीत के साथ ही सोशल मीडिया पर बधाइयों का ताँता लग गया. हर कोई अपने-अपने अंदाज़ में इस जीत का उल्लेख कर रहा है.

भारतीय टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली ने ट्वीट किया, "क्या जीत है. एडिलेड के बाद जो लोग हमारी क़ाबिलियत पर शक कर रहे थे, वे उठे और देखें."
