For the Emperor… and a £13,000 Bonus! Games Workshop Smashes Records, Showers Staff with £20 Million Windfall

Get ready for some seriously good news from the grim darkness of the far future! Warhammer creator Games Workshop is not only conquering tabletops and digital realms but also sharing its epic success directly with its dedicated team. The Nottingham-based powerhouse has announced a colossal £20 million (approx. $27 million) bonus pot to be distributed among its staff, a significant jump from last year’s £18 million.
This generous move comes on the back of a phenomenal financial year. For the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025, Games Workshop reported core revenue rocketing to £560 million, up impressively from £494.7 million. Licensing revenue, a rapidly growing arm of the company, also surged to £50 million from £31 million. This translates into a pre-tax profit of a staggering £255 million, a healthy increase from £203 million in the previous period.
In a direct “recognition of our staff’s contribution to these results,” the company is ensuring every employee gets an equal slice of the pie. With an estimated 1,500 staff members, this means each loyal employee is looking at a fantastic bonus of around £13,333 (approx. $18,000) – a truly welcome reward for their hard work.
While Games Workshop’s heart remains in its meticulously crafted miniatures for iconic games like Warhammer 40,000, its expansion into a major intellectual property (IP) licensor is proving a masterstroke. Smash-hit video games such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, captivating animations like Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode, and the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe deal with Amazon, spearheaded by Henry Cavill, are all fueling this incredible growth. And with Space Marine 3 already in development, the digital battlefield is set for further conquest.
Looking ahead, while the company wisely notes that the current record-breaking licensing revenue might be exceptional, it remains a key focus. The Warhammer universe is undeniably bigger and more popular than ever.
Fans also have plenty to be excited about, with the recent Warhammer Skulls showcase unveiling a host of new announcements, including a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and a new Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
One thing is clear: the boom times are not just continuing at Games Workshop; they’re accelerating, bringing fantastic rewards for the company, its fans, and most importantly, its dedicated staff.
