Combined Group Contracting Secures $53.5 Million Contract for Major Infrastructure Project in Oman’s Duqm

Kuwait-based Combined Group Contracting (CGC) has been awarded a significant tender worth 16.4 million Kuwaiti Dinars (approximately $53.5 million USD) for a crucial infrastructure project in Oman.

The company announced it has officially won the contract for the construction of a coastal road and the road network for the Central Business District (CBD) in Duqm, a rapidly developing port city and special economic zone on Oman’s Arabian Sea coast.

This major contract win places CGC at the center of one of the most ambitious economic development projects in the Middle East. The project is designed to build out the foundational infrastructure needed to support the burgeoning commercial and industrial activity in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).

The scope of the project includes:

  • Construction of a vital coastal road, which will improve connectivity and access along Duqm’s strategic coastline.

  • Development of key roads for the Central Business District, laying the groundwork for future commercial, financial, and residential hubs.

The win underscores Combined Group Contracting’s strong reputation and competitive edge in the regional construction market. Securing a high-value tender in a strategic location like Duqm solidifies its position as a leading contractor for large-scale infrastructure works.

For Oman, the project represents another concrete step forward in realizing its Oman Vision 2040, a national strategy aimed at diversifying the economy away from hydrocarbons and establishing the Sultanate as a global logistics and industrial hub. The development of world-class infrastructure in Duqm is critical to attracting foreign investment and driving this long-term vision.

The awarding of this contract to a prominent regional player like CGC highlights the high-profile nature of the Duqm development and the confidence in its future growth.
